How to get to Corfu Island
By air: Corfu has air connections with many European cities through charter companies. Olympic Airways offers daily flights to Athens (approx. 50 mins duration) and on certain days of the week there are flights to Thessaloniki. By bus from Athens:The long-distance bus company (KTEL Kerkyra) travels to and from Athens twice a day The Athens terminus can be found at Kifiso. Tel: 01- 5129443.
By bus from Thessaloniki: KTEL Kerkyra also runs to and from Thessaloniki daily. The terminus can be found near to the main railway station (OSE Thessaloniki) Tel:031- 510110. The timetable is as follows:

Drivers of private cars should follow the road signs - Athens - Igoumenitsa 500 km /9 hours, Patras - Igoumenitsa 349 km /5 hours.
By boat:The island is well - connected to mainland Greece with frequent sailings to Igoumenitsa, Patras and Pireas and also to the Italian ports of Bari, Brindisi and Ancona.From Igoumenitsa the ferry-boats sail daily from 6.00 - 22.00 hrs. The open type of ferry - boats cover the distance to Corfu harbour in 1 hour 45 mins, the larger closed ferry - boats in 1 hour..During the summer period sailings are more frequent and there is a departure from Igoumenitsa every 15 mins For visitors to the south of Corfu there is a faster route connecting Igoumenitsa to the harbour of Lefkimi.
From Patras there are sailings each evening between 21.00 - 24.00 hrs bound for Italy which put into Corfu in the early morning hours for embarkation. From Italy the same boats stop in Corfu before going on to Patras.
